St. Louis, MO – HEAD Penn Racquet Sports has agreed to become the exclusive sponsor of the Instant Replay Camera and the ‘Play of the Match’ during men’s professional International Racquetball Tour (IRT) broadcasts. The announcement came during the final match of the 2010 San Diego Pro/Am event. According to John “The Mouth” Scott, owner and play-by-play announcer of the IRT Network, “I am so excited to bring the fans what they have been asking for. The viewers, myself, Pabs (Pablo Fajre, the Network director), all want this, and now with the agreement from HEAD Penn Racquet Sports, we can make this dream a reality.”
The HEAD Instant Replay Cam will be rolled out for the 2010-2011 IRT Season during the U.S. Open Racquetball Championships just in time for the biggest show of the year. “We will have the HEAD Instant Replay Cam, the Pro Penn Play of the Match, and Sudsy Monchik! It doesn’t get any better than this!”, said Scott after the final match in San Diego.
Sudsy Monchik, one of the most exciting players to have played the game, has agreed to make a comeback, this time on the air. The fans are in for a real treat. “It has always been a dream to have the best working with me. I have the best coaches on the air and supporting the programs; Russ Mannino, Fran Davis, and Jim Winterton. Now some of the best players currently on tour, including Ben Croft and Anthony Herrera, will join the legendary Sudsy Monchik to bring racquetball to a whole new level!”
Sudsy will be on the air for the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) quarterfinal, semifinal, and final rounds at the U.S. OPEN Racquetball Championships. Early round matches will be broadcast for free, while the quarters through the finals will be subscription only. Scott also said that Sudsy has agreed to be in the IRT Network booth signing autographs for people who sign up for IRT Network subscriptions in person at the U.S. Open.
The broadcast schedule can be found on the “upcoming” page of the IRT Network (www.irtnetwork.com). The broadcast will start on Thursday, October 23rd. More information on the U.S. Open Racquetball Championships can be found at www.usopenracquetball.com.
