Washington, MO, Sept. 25, 2017- From October 4-8, the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) and the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) will be at the Life Time Fitness-Target Center in Minneapolis, MN for the 2017 UnitedHealthcare U.S. Open Racquetball Championships.
All the best racquetball players in the world from both the IRT and the LPRT will compete in singles and doubles play at the 22nd anniversary of the U.S. Open.
In last year’s U.S. Open, the men’s top ranked player on the Tour, Kane Waselenchuk, took home his 12th U.S. Open Championship and the 100th Title of his career. The LPRT’s #1 ranked player, Paola Longoria, captured her 7th U.S. Open Championship in last year’s Open.
The action will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, at the Life Time Fitness-Target Center with the IRT and LPRT qualifiers for both the singles and doubles competition. At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, 32 amateur players will play in a doubles tourney with the top players from the IRT/LPRT tours to raise money for St. Jude and JDRF charities.
On Thursday, October 5, the IRT and LPRT rounds of 32 will start at 9 a.m. with the rounds of 16 to follow at 1 p.m. later that afternoon and the doubles quarter-finals starting at 7 p.m. that evening.
Starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 6, the quarter-finals of the IRT and LPRT singles will take place and the semi-finals of the doubles will follow at 5 p.m. that evening. At 10 a.m., Saturday, October 7, the singles semi-finals will take place and the doubles finals will follow up at starting at 4 p.m. The singles finals will start at 10 a.m. on Sunday, October 8.
The IRT Network will be live streaming the 2017 U.S. Open starting Wednesday, October 4, during the Pro/Am charity doubles, and will continue through the finals.
